Mahogany Tea Caddy

Mahogany Georgian tea caddy with replaced brass handle and original brass lock. Holds original tin canisters for tea or coffee, items of such value they were usually kept locked in a caddy in the parlor. Given in memory of Janie Jolly Griffin.

Estimated date: 1750-1800 (circa 1760).

You really gave us great information on what life was like back when Joel Lane was alive. They lived in very harsh conditions with no heat or air condition which would be very tough today.
