Plan your child’s next Birthday Party with a historical twist! Have a Historical Children’s Birthday Party at the Joel Lane Museum House.
Does your child love playing dress up and is interested in the early history of America? Tired of dragging the children to the local noisy spot for parties? We have the perfect spot for your child’s next birthday party—the Joel Lane Museum House!

One-hour event includes an age-appropriate tour of Joel Lane’s house and the “kitchen,” followed by playing old-time toys and games plus your choice of one activity: writing with a quill pen, rag doll making, tin punching an ornament, or dipping a beeswax candle. Limit is 15 people including adults; admission is $10 per person. Bring your own cake to enjoy in the gardens or in the case of bad weather, in the Visitors Center. No food or drink is allowed in the museum buildings. Available times: Weekday afternoons at 3:30 pm, Saturdays at 1:00, 2:00 or 3:00 pm, Sunday afternoons by appointment. Advanced reservations are required.
