Lizzie Lane’s Colonial Tea 2009--SOLD OUT
There was no space for any walk-ins as this event was sold out.
Joel Lane Museum House’s Colonial Tea took place Sunday, September 20, 2009 from 3 to 5 pm. The rain date was Sunday, September 27. Girls, their mothers, grandmothers, fathers, and grandfathers learned about the custom of taking tea in the colonial and early American eras. They drank their tea from china tea sets, ate delicious and beautiful cakes and cookies, and participated in crafts and games after tea.
Admission to the tea was $25 for adults and $15 for children aged 12 and under, payable in advance. Participants could mail a check to PO Box 10884, Raleigh NC 27605, or call 919-833-3431 with MasterCard, or Visa credit cards to reserve places. Minimum age was 5 years. Proceeds benefited the programs of the organization.
Activities included: learning the Virginia Reel, “tin” punching Christmas ornaments, making rag dolls, decorating paper fans, and playing early American games.
It was necessary to reserve your space early. The Tea was a sell-out again this year.
