2021 Christmas Open House

December 4, 2021

A Christmas wreath hangs in front of the Joel Lane Visitor's Center. It is a pine wreath with radishes, pinecones, and berries. Behind the wreath is the Joel Lane Visitor's Center sign.

The Joel Lane Museum House hosts its annual Christmas Open House on Saturday, December 4, 2021, from 11 am to 4 pm. Admission is free, and donations appreciated. We ask that all guests wear masks while on the museum grounds.

The House, decorated for in traditional Colonial holiday, reveals the ways in which colonists and early Americans celebrated the Yuletide season. Meet re-enactors demonstrating scenes of 18th-century life, while costumed docents share information about the house and grounds, live folk music fills the air, and children participate in colonial games and crafts through our “Hands-on History” program.

The museum store offers a selection of unique gifts for all ages, and our annual bake sale features delicious local specialties and traditional delights.

For more information, please call the museum at (919) 833-3431 during operating hours.
