Volunteer Opportunity Open House

when: Sep. 8, 2018

Please join us for an inside look at volunteer opportunities at the Joel Lane Museum House, Saturday, September 8, 10:30 am-12:00 pm, with refreshments and a behind-the-scenes peek into the Museum! Meet our staff and fabulous crew of volunteer docents.

Whether you are interested in History, Storytelling, Costuming, Gardening, Research, Crafting, or Teaching, we have a place for you at the Joel Lane Museum House. We’ll have a brief discussion of the opportunities available at this site, then walk together through the Kitchen, Gardens, and House, for a behind-the-scenes look at how the Museum works, from a docent’s perspective. The Joel Lane Museum House is proud of our fun, dedicated volunteer community, and we offer flexible options for volunteering. No previous experience necessary.

This event is free, but we’d love to know how many are coming. Please RSVP through Eventbrite, and tell your friends!

What visitors say

Thank you so much for letting our IB Human Geography class come tour the Joel Lane house. I really enjoyed learning about how high-class people lived back them. I was surprised to hear that they were always working and had no time to themselves. I was also shocked at the size of the beds. They were so small! You two really played good parts and made me feel like I was really back in those times.
