Tour Disruptions: The JLMH Paint Project Will Impact Tours—plus, winter hours begin December 22

Please pardon our mess! Work is underway to restore the JLHM paint, and we are excited to share the results in the coming weeks and months. Unfortunately, aspects of our tours will be disrupted in the coming weeks. While tours are disrupted, tickets are half-price. The safety of our guests and workers is our top priority. Some museum buildings and/or portions of the grounds will be temporarily closed to visitors as workers remove centuries of lead-based paint, stabilize the underlying structures, and re-paint. For example, tours will be unable to enter the Lane House itself this week, as workers remove toxic lead materials. We cannot, at this time, predict how long these disruptions might last, as it depends on the condition workers find beneath the paint. We will offer alternative programming as possible. Thank you for your patience and support! Update 1/1/2020: Work is underway on the Lane House itself. For safety reasons, tours cannot currently enter the house itself. Those portions of the tour will be conducted virtually, with a slideshow in the JLMH Visitors Center. Winter Hours: Through December 21, our tour hours will remain as they have been, with tours on the hour: Wednesday-Friday: 10:00-2:00 (tours at 10:00, 11:00, 12:00, and 1:00) Saturday: 1:00-4:00 (tours at 1:00, 2:00, and 3:00) Beginning December 22, through February, we will observe our winter hours, and only offer the Saturday tours. Please call 919-833-3431 for the latest tour information.
