Plant Shop Now Open Behind the Visitors Center

Joel Lane Museum House has just expanded its plant sales area to the rear of the Visitors Center. You may now take home a bit of “living history.” We have many extra plants that need new homes. Prices start at $3 for a 3” pot and go up to $10 for a 10” pot. Thanks to a generous grant from Pi Alpha Xi at NC State University and the hard work of horticulture student, Keith Lukowski, the offerings include pomegranate trees, rosemary, lamb’s ear, Japanese rose, and many more, all taken from the grounds. All proceeds will benefit the gardens.

What visitors say

Thank you so much for letting our IB Human Geography class come tour the Joel Lane house. I really enjoyed learning about how high-class people lived back them. I was surprised to hear that they were always working and had no time to themselves. I was also shocked at the size of the beds. They were so small! You two really played good parts and made me feel like I was really back in those times.
